Holding Things Together When Things Start to Fall Apart

The Editors Apology and A New Focus for The 610 Business Journal

On Monday, July 26th , The 610 Business Journal did not appear as usual. All my readers, especially those of you who follow this blog from week to week, deserve an explanation as to why it did not appear. I certainly apologize for having not followed through as I promised. However when these sort of things happen, sometimes good can come out of our most glaring slip-ups. That is certainly the case here.

For the last three or four weeks, I experienced a serious case of business owner's burnout. I have been running hard and fast to build  up my business for the last 8 or 9 months. Like most of you, I am having to do whatever it takes to keep my consulting business afloat.  Long story short, a few weeks back, I allowed my plate to get hugely overloaded and it all caught up me. I found it hard to concentrate on business matters each day. As a result, I found it very hard to function in a professional manner. I had hit a psychological wall.

This issue of The 610 Business Journal will focus on how to hold things together when things feel like they are falling apart. We will explore the importance of setting core goals for companies and how doing that will enable business owners to make better management decisions at each step of a company's development and to stay on track, even in chaotic situations.

In the next issue of this publication we will introduce a new management tool, the WIF Analysis, which will enable business owners to stay focused on those business activities which are consistently producing the strongest revenue streams. We will continue our commitment to identify those issues and problems we face in business and point the spotlight on those which are having the most immediate impact on business owners. We will explore each specific issue from several angles and offer cost-effective strategies your company can use when dealing with that issue or problem. This publication continues to strive for journalistic excellence and content relevance. We know that readership is earned. We pledge to set a high benchmark for the quality of the articles that we will publish now and in the future. Thank you for your continuing loyalty.
